Hello, I’m Dawn

People. Stories. A little theatrical flair.

Celebrant, actor, therapist. A listener, a storyteller, and someone who cares deeply about getting your moment right.

Dawn Spragg, celebrant

Why did I become a celebrant? It is a question I am often asked. The answer is simple and comes from the heart. I love people, I love ceremony, and I love supporting people during the happiest and the most challenging times of their lives.

I have always been that person: the one who organised events for family and friends, coordinated the fun, created the right atmosphere and acted as Master of Ceremonies. It is simply part of who I am.

I started paid work at a very young age as an actor. I loved to perform and to bring a smile to people’s faces. I am still Spotlight-registered and a member of Equity.

When that part of my life needed a change, I trained as a therapist. My therapy practice, Healing Hands of Morden, has been running for over 30 years and is still going today.

The real turning point came in 2024. That year, I attended 12 funerals alongside the joy of three weddings. This would make a good title for a film, don’t you think? I truly noticed the difference a really good celebrant could make. After a year of reflection, I decided to become a celebrant of excellence.

Every ceremony I create is bespoke, because it must reflect the people at its heart: their children, their pets, their personalities, their stories, their place and the occasion itself.

I will give you my time, my years of experience, my professionalism, my knowledge and, most importantly, my full support to deliver the ceremony that you and your loved ones truly deserve.
